Amb. Sadick Jaffer is the Chief Director: Investment Promotion in Investment South Africa, a division within the Department of Trade and Industry, South Africa. He has extensive experience in the public sector having served as a senior member of the civil service since 1996.
From 2011 to 2015, he served as South Africa’s Ambassador to Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Prior to the posting as Ambassador, he served as the Chief Director: Investment Promotion and Facilitation of Trade and Investment South Africa, a division of the Department of Trade and Industry from 2005. Amb. Jaffer also served as the Chief Director: Economic Policy, Planning and Research in the Department of Finance and Economic Affairs, Gauteng Province from 2002 to 2005. Amb. Jaffer also served as Director: Economic Development Services in the Department of Economic Affairs and Tourism, Northern Cape Province from 1996 to 2001.
Amb. Jaffer has served in several other positions whilst in public sector and participated in economic research projects at university.
