Publicity stunt or genuine sexist gift suggestions for Mother's Day?
Supermarket chain Checkers found itself in the wrong aisle last week after one of its shops advertised home cleaning products as gifts to “wow mom” on Mother’s Day.
Picked up by the Sunday Times, the picture was retweeted and reposted with disparaging comments some asking Checkers to clean up its marketing.
The shop remains unidentified and some observers are sceptical that Checkers would make the mistake. But the retailer told the Sunday Times it would identify the shop with the incorrect products and then posted on Twitter what its display for Mother’s Day looked like.
