EXHIBITOR NEWS: Brick Up Africa cc

Who are we?
Brick Up Africa is the officially licensed distributor of LEGO® products throughout Africa.
At Brick Up Africa we have a passion for the LEGO® brand and are determined to grow it further in Africa using our existing warehousing and distribution infrastructure and experience in marketing toys in Southern Africa.
We have a passion for spreading the joy of LEGO® products in Africa so that all children will have the privilege of playing with this amazing brand, and parents to see the importance of supplying their children with this wonderful product.
Why LEGO®?
Children want the same things as adults: To laugh, to be challenged, to be entertained and delighted.
LEGO® does exactly that! LEGO® bricks excite and motivate children to attain the necessary skills for success in later life. LEGO® helps to form the young learner’s brain, to grasp concepts using ideas, curiosity and their imagination.
They learn to create while having fun and gaining a love for learning. The LEGO® brick helps develop physical, cognitive, social and emotional skills.
What is LEGO®?
LEGO® DUPLO® is the first steps any child would take in the LEGO® world. These are LEGO® bricks specially made bigger for even the smallest of hands to build with, built for children between the ages of 9 months and up. LEGO® DUPLO will help the littlies to reach those fun and proud early childhood developmental milestones like learning colours, shapes, and numbers.
LEGO® is a line of plastic construction toys that are manufactured by the LEGO® Group, a privately held company based in Billund, Denmark. The company’s flagship product, LEGO®, consists of colourful interlocking plastic bricks accompanying an array of gears, figurines called minifigures, and various other parts. LEGO® pieces can be assembled and connected in many ways to construct objects, including vehicles, buildings, and working robots. Anything constructed can be taken apart again, and the pieces reused to make new and interesting toys using the imagination of the child (or adult). The word LEGO® is derived from the Danish phrase leg godt, which means “play well”.
The LEGO® brick has been hailed the greatest toy of all time, but that is not the only recognition the LEGO® Group is being accorded: In 2015, the LEGO® brand became a new entrant on the Best Global Brands report, debuting as the 82nd brand in the world. The official LEGO® website can be found at www.lego.com for more information on the products.
Benefits of LEGO® products:
LEGO® suits everyone’s needs. Everyone? Yes, everyone. How so. LEGO® is educational from toddler to adulthood. We all know that kids learn best through play. LEGO® is the best way to introduce children to individual and social concepts. As they figure out how to use the different blocks, they are engaging all their senses without noticing it. At the same time they are learning the STEM system ( science, technology, engineering and math), especially when using LEGO® Technic. LEGO® helps them retain what they learn and become eager to learn more.
Children with ADHD have a short attention span and patience. Customers have commented that in using LEGO® as a learning tool for children with ADHD, it has helped them hold their attention for hours on end, building the vital thinking skills that allow them to focus better at school and during their non-play activities.
LEGO® has been shown to not only be an immensely fun toy for children to play with but it has many other developmental benefits as well such as:
1. It encourages sharing and social skills through teamwork and communication when discussing build strategies and assigning roles with friends.
2. Constructive problem solving and lateral thinking such as deciding how to design your LEGO® structure to be integrally strong.
3. Adventure and experimentation.
4. Fine motor skills development.
5. Increased spatial awareness.
6. Better focus and concentration.
7. Patience, persistence, perseverance and organisational skills.
8. It develops confidence and individuality, teaching them that differences are okay.

The LEGO® brand is well known worldwide and any shop can promote it as it brings little feet (children) and big feet (parents), pulling customers into their stores. Vehicle dealerships are using LEGO® as a marketing tool for their customers in that when purchasing certain vehicles they receive a free LEGO® set in that range.
