Carel has held the role of Marketing Trade and Partnership Manager at Cape Town Tourism, identifying and managing strategic relationships with key stakeholders and  to ensure alignment with organisational objectives; Provide strategic input into positioning Cape Town as a 365 destination; Contribute to strategic objectives by developing and implementing a trade project plan; Market Cape Town as a tourism destination to international trade/agents at international trade-and-roadshows; Strategically profile the city through trade hosting programmes; Contribute to the implementation of international campaigns by developing beneficial agreements with the industry, airlines, cities, international tourism organisations and media; Develop and implement campaigns targeting tactical markets such as the CTT Halal Tourism Programme, working closely with South African Tourism and Crescent rating. Carel is frequently invited to speak at Halal conferences on Halal Travel in Singapore and the world’s largest tourism exhibition ITB – Berlin and also at ITB – Asia.
